Welcome Back!!

Hi Parents,
It was so nice to meet all of you at the Ice Cream Social. I’m sure I will recognize your faces, but will most likely need help with names. I look forward to seeing you again at Open House from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on September 11th. I hopefully will answer any questions you may have at this time.
Well, the first few days are under our belt and we are on our way. I have had a great week and a half with the students. I hope your child came home excited and energized for the school year to come. I can’t wait to get to know your child more in the next few weeks.
Here is just a little bit about myself. My name is Aleisha Nove and I am beginning my 11th year of teaching, which is really hard to believe. I started my teaching career in the beautiful state of Colorado in Wheat Ridge at Pennington Elementary. During my three years in Colorado, I taught kindergarten, 5th grade, and a 5th/6th combination class. My husband and I wanted to start a family so we moved back to Iowa to be closer to our own families. When returning to Iowa, I taught for DMPS at Hoyt Middle School for three years. I enjoyed teaching 6th and 7th graders, but I missed the elementary school setting so accepted a position as a 5th grade teacher Northeast Elementary in Ankeny, IA. I taught at Northeast for four years and
thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Then, Brant, my husband and I made the decision to move back to the Cedar Rapids area. I was ecstatic when I got the call offering me the position to teach 3rd/4th grade here at Lemme Elementary. I am excited for this new adventure! I can already tell what a wonderful community Lemme Elementary is, filled with great students, welcoming staff, and supportive parents.
When I am not at school, you can find me with my family. I have three boys; Carson(5), Mason(3), and Cooper (17 months) that keep me busy. They are all boy and there is not a dull or quiet moment in my house until about 9:00 p.m. I love them dearly and wouldn’t want it any other way. My husband’s name is Brant and he has recently switched to being a manager at the Culver’s restaurant in Coralville. We enjoy attending Iowa football games on the weekends or heading to a park with the boys to burn off some energy!!
I look forward to this coming school year and helping your child be successful! Please contact me with any concerns or questions you may have. Thanks for the support!!

Mrs. Nove
